Information about our Church | Lakes Christian Centre
Welcome to Lakes Christian Centre, thanks for taking the time to find out more about us! We are a church that worships God the Father, Son and Spirit and proclaim the Good News of salvation in Jesus.
Our 11am Sunday Services consist of lively praise and worship, inspiring and challenging Bible teaching and Communion. During the service Primary School children are invited to join our Children’s Church and Secondary School children are welcome to join our RED. Youth ministry.
If this is your first time here we want to make your experience as comfortable as possible, so just a few things you might want to know... Firstly, there is parking available further down Longlands Road next to the Bowling Green. You can come in jeans and a t-shirt or a suit and a hat, you can sit or stand when you like, expect guitars and drums and people praying out loud, and please don’t feel you have to give to the offering or take part in communion (which by the way is red grape juice, bread and gluten free crackers). We’d also love you to join us for refreshments downstairs after the service!
We also have wheelchair accessibility via the front side entrance, we have a disabled toilet in the welcome foyer area, and to join us for refreshments downstairs - exit via the main entrance, head round the back of the church building via Longlands road and enter the Coffee Lounge via the small car park and courtyard gate.
As a vibrant growing family church, life doesn’t stop on Sundays and we enjoy meeting up through the week to fellowship, pray, study the Bible and reach out into the community sharing the love of Jesus.
You are welcome to watch our 'Life at Lakes' DVD which shows some highlights from a year at Lakes Christian Centre giving you a real flavour of our church family life!
As a church we began life in 1924 in the Langdale Valley and over the years we grew and moved to various locations in the Lake District before settling here in Bowness. In 2014 we celebrated our 90th anniversary and the video opposite celebrates our journey as a church. We believe God is building his church here in our community and that our vision from Acts 1 and 2 (with regards to the early church) will inspire us to greater things in the future. You are welcome to read more about our vision below.
