Real Men Don't Eat Quiche!
Real men don't eat quiche, or so they say, and yet it seems to be the stable diet of any good Christian gathering! I myself am partial to be bit of quiche and I still consider myself to be a real man! However, I believe the Lord is calling men up and down this nation to be 'real men' and that can mean many things to different people. All I know is, that when the Lord looks at our hearts I believe He is saying to us the same words that the angel said to Gideon "The Lord is with thee thou mighty man of valour".
The world puts a lot of pressure upon us all to conform to a certain way of living and being. From a young age, boys are taught to be tough and anything else is a sign of weakness, especially tears. I believe the Lord turns this on its head and doesn't want us to conform to what the world would have us be. He looks at our hearts - "The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” 1 Sam 16:7. Sometimes through no fault of our own there has been years of building up walls to protect ourselves and who the Lord created us to be. I know the Lord wants to take a sledge hammer to all that and knock those walls down.
He delights in who and what He has created. So, man of God, rise up and take your place in the plan that the Lord has mapped out for you.
