The Real Meaning of Christmas
I praise the Lord for the people of Lakes Christian Centre who gave so generously towards the hampers for people in our community. We will be able to bless many families in our neighbourhood with extra treats this Christmas. I would just like to mention Danielle and the team who go into Applethwaite and Holehird each month to sing God's praises with the people there. This wonderful ministry has come out of someone's heart toward the people in her community and I believe the Lord rejoices every Sunday when His praises are sung. The money that was collected will allow the team to take gifts with them when they go in to sing at Christmas.
We should never underestimate the love of the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that it is this love that we are showing to each person and family that receives a hamper this Christmas. We don't do this because we want to say how wonderful Lakes Christian Centre is, we do it because it is our expression of the love of Christ to our neighbours.
Enjoy Christmas this year by all means, but let's never lose sight of the real meaning. Jesus Christ was born so that we might have life and life eternal and for that, I will praise His name for evermore!
