Our Testimony
In 2 Timothy 4:7 Paul says 'I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith' - what a great testimony! Could this be said of us? I don't know but it excites me to think that these words could be said as the testimony of our life on earth. We are all evangelists in our own right. It might not be thousands of people that we talk to but there are people in our every day walk who we come into contact with weekly.
There is the lady on the checkout at Morrisons that I speak to regularly. She knows that I am a pastor and that I have just been out to Kenya. Before I went I was telling her all about it, about the work that Open Arms do with the children out there and she had tears in her eyes. She was full of compassion. Since I have been back my Monday checkout lady has not been there but I can't wait for the next time she is and I can tell her about what the Lord was able to do whilst I was out there.
These are the people who we are making a difference with. If we speak words of testimony, if we talk to them with the love of the Lord Jesus Christ they are going to respond to us. I am going to be praying for this lady and hopefully there will come an opportunity to invite her to something that the Church is doing.
It is people like this that need to hear the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. I know from the moment that I first met her that the Lord had a plan for her life and I am sure that each person who is part of Lakes Christian Centre has that someone who they are praying for, that they are talking to and who their life is impacting with the gospel. Don't underestimate what God is doing in your life. Pray that He will lead you to the right person and watch Him do great things. Let our testimony be the same as Paul's that we have fought a good fight, finished the course and kept the faith.
