Prayer at Lakes Christian Centre
Jesus says "My House shall be called a house of prayer" (Matt 21:13). He does not say that His house should be called a house of preaching, a house of music, a house of Bible reading, or a house of love and fellowship. All these things are, of course, vitally important but Jesus places the emphasis and priority on prayer and, therefore, so should we.
At Lakes Christian Centre, we believe the prayer meetings to be the most important meetings. As we seek for our Church to become 'a House of Prayer' we are privileged, and humbled, to see the Lord working in response to our intercessions and to experience signs and wonders as spoken about in the book of Acts.
Prayer is a priority for us, so, as well as our whole Church fortnightly Wednesday evening prayer meeting, a dedicated team of ladies meet to pray on a Wednesday morning (as they have done for many years) and open prayer meetings are held early on a Tuesday morning and mid morning on a Thursday for those who are able and desire to seek the face of God with, and on behalf of, others.
