What's on at Lakes Christian Centre
SUNDAY
11.00am - Family service which includes prayer, worship, Bible teaching, the sharing of Communion, and activities for children.
MONDAY
7.30pm - Gospel Choir - The Lakes Gospel Choir was formed in 2003 and is open to both Christians and non-Christians to share the joy of singing gospel music and experiencing its message. We have 60-70 members of all ages, from teens to 70+. We rehearse weekly in the Church building and perform in concerts throughout the year.
TUESDAY
7.00 - 8.00 am - Early morning prayer meeting. Those of us who wish to begin our working day in the presence of the Lord meet, weekly, at the Church building.
10 am - 12 noon - Tea, Coffee and Prayer for Healing. A team of church members reaching out to the community and available to prayer for your needs.
6.30pm - Children's Bible Study (School Yrs 6 - 8) - We meet in a leader's home to explore the great truths of the Bible in a fun and interactive way.
7.30pm - Lakes Youth - Our youth take time out to discuss the challenges and issues that face all teenagers. Our Youth Leaders assist, and support, them in applying scripture to the situations they face in school and family life. The youth are encouraged to participate in national Christian conferences and events and our regular Youth Camps are becoming a highlight in our annual calendar.
WEDNESDAY
10.30 am - Ladies' Prayer Group - For many years we have benefited from the faithful prayers of the Ladies Prayer Group. Meeting, weekly, in a local home, the ladies intercede on a wide range of matters that have been brought to their attention.
7.30pm - Church Prayer Meeting (fortnightly) - We meet in the Church building to worship, study God's Word and pray together.
7.30pm - Home Groups (fortnightly) - These groups provide an opportunity for people to meet within a social setting to talk, share, pray, learn and, sometimes, eat together. They are set in various homes around the area with one group being specifically dedicated to new Christians or those who are searching for God.
THURSDAY
9.30 - 11.30am - Prayer Meeting - We meet in the Pastor's home to share prayer requests and lift them up to the Lord. We always manage to fit in the odd cup of coffee or two as well !
7.30 pm - Table Tennis Affinity Group in the Coffee Lounge
Additional Activities
Summer Holiday Activity Group
Open to all - especially families. Each week during the school holidays, one of the mums will organise two or three activities - trips to parks, picnics, events, sightseeing - to allow young and old to spend time doing things together.
Her Story Coffee
An opportunity for ladies in our church and community to get together informally over a cup of coffee and chat. First Friday of every month 1.30 pm.
