What's on at Lakes Christian Centre
SUNDAY
11.00am - Family service - at present we are journeying through the books of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. The service includes prayer, worship, Bible teaching, the sharing of Communion, and activities for children.
6.30 pm - Sunday Summer Praise. During the summer months the Lakes Gospel Choir will be opening their doors and warmly invite you to join them and perhaps learn some new songs together.
MONDAY
7.30pm - Gospel Choir - The Lakes Gospel Choir was formed in 2003 and is open to both Christians and non-Christians to share the joy of singing gospel music and experiencing its message. We have 60-70 members of all ages, from teens to 70+. We rehearse weekly in the Church building and perform in concerts throughout the year.
NB: During July and August the Choir will not be meeting on Monday evenings whilst hosting Sunday Summer Praise.
TUESDAY
7.00 - 8.00 am - Early morning prayer meeting. Those of us who wish to begin our working day in the presence of the Lord meet, weekly, at the Church building.
6.15pm - Children's Bible Study (School Yrs 4 - 6) - We meet in a leader's home to explore the great truths of the Bible in a fun and interactive way. NB: There will be no Children's Bible Study during the School Summer Holidays.
7.30pm - Lakes Youth - Our youth take time out to discuss the challenges and issues that face all teenagers. Our Youth Leaders assist, and support, them in applying scripture to the situations they face in school and family life. The youth are encouraged to participate in national Christian conferences and events and our regular Youth Camps are becoming a highlight in our annual calendar.
7.30pm - ART Group - We meet to paint, chat and whilst the paint dries, we eat a lot of cake! If you would like to try your hand, or are already proficient, we'd love you to come and join us. There are no experts, just some learners discovering art together.
WEDNESDAY
10.30 am - Ladies' Prayer Group - For many years we have benefited from the faithful prayers of the Ladies Prayer Group. Meeting, weekly, in a local home, the ladies intercede on a wide range of matters that have been brought to their attention.
7.30pm - Church Prayer Meeting (fortnightly) - We meet in the Church building to worship, study God's Word and pray together.
7.30pm - Home Groups (fortnightly) - These groups provide an opportunity for people to meet within a social setting to talk, share, pray, learn and, sometimes, eat together. They are set in various homes around the area with one group being specifically dedicated to new Christians or those who are searching for God.
THURSDAY
9.30 - 11.30am - Prayer Meeting - We meet in the Pastor's home to share prayer requests and lift them up to the Lord. We always manage to fit in the odd cup of coffee or two as well !
Additional Activities
Christian Business Forum
The Christian Business Forum meets for breakfast once a month at the Low Wood Hotel near Ambleside. We aim to support each other in work and business life through Bible teaching, testimony and discussion. Anyone in work or business is welcome to attend.
Lakes Women @ ...
For women aged 18 or over, we meet on the first Saturday of each month for coffee at some of Lakeland's finest tearooms. We usually try to fit in a stroll or short gentle bike ride too. An opportunity to take an hour or so off from the hustle and bustle of life and be inspired by our beautiful surroundings.
Summer Holiday Activity Group
Open to all - especially families. Each week during the school holidays, one of the mums will organise two or three activities - trips to parks, picnics, events, sightseeing - to allow young and old to spend time doing things together.
